Investing in the Future: The IEDA Foundation
Recognizing the growing skilled labor shortage in the heavy equipment industry, the IEDA Foundation was established in the spring of 2022 as a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization. The Foundation is focused on closing the workforce gap by supporting students pursuing careers as diesel technicians.
Since its inception, the Foundation has awarded 16 scholarships of $5,000 each to deserving heavy diesel students across the United States. These scholarships are announced each fall through technical college instructors and awarded following a carefully managed application and judging process. Winners are selected by December and officially announced during the IEDA Annual Meeting in February.
What truly sets the Foundation apart is its personal approach. IEDA board members and the Executive Director visit each scholarship recipient in person to present the award and congratulate the students, their instructors, and families. This hands-on involvement highlights the Foundation’s commitment to making a real and lasting impact.
